Am I flarf?

A thoughtful editor just wrote to say he almost wants to publish my poem "Occasionally Yours." Of course I wish he'd go on his nerve and publish the poem, but I appreciate his candor in no-thanksing like this (linebreaks mine):

it was a surpirse
to read, and is more
worthwhile than usual

Flarf

influenced stuff, and it seems somehow
involved with itself, which

Flarf

poetry has veered from
and landed itself
in a dead-end over; but
my feeling is that
there is not enough at stake
behind this involvement
in this poem.

And here's my answer song:

Everything is at stake.

I went to see Cog & Pearl

Were there beautiful things? There were beautiful things! Like these hand soaps.

And this fortune teller. My fortune teller said, "Make a wish for someone else."

Shara Porter, you're a heart breaker. One day I'll adopt one of your hand printed fine found objects.

Until then.

I went to see "Flooded McDonald's"

... and "The Financial Crisis" and "Burning Car." You can watch short clips of all three here and read more about FMcD at the Danish art collective Superflex's website.

One-Night Stand

In these trying times, it's clear how white, academic men will survive:
by hiring each other.

Eileen Myles

At the Belladonna conference I attended a panel. The panel was well-attended, seats were taken, attendees included many artists whose aesthetics I admire. After the panel started, Eileen Myles entered the room. I had never seen Eileen Myles in person. I had never seen Eileen Myles in person, my companion said, "Eileen Myles is so cool." Seats were taken. Eileen Myles sat down on the floor. She looked so cool. She looked so cool and at ease. Of the cool and at ease people I've seen, she is one of the most.

Admiration for Eileen Myles!

Oh it's such a perfect day...

Can you spare a dollar? Not one of you motherfuckers is happy.
